The hot weather is peaking through, so it's time to get yourselves out of your halls for the day!
But where do you go?
Here are our top spots to soak up the sunshine near your accommodation:
Bradford
Just around the corner from Wardley House is the Mirror Pool. Whilst it's not an actual pool, it's a great spot to go on a hot day and dip your toes in the water. It'll cool you down, and there are benches nearby where you can soak up the sun and watch the world go by!
Brighton
Calling all football fans! Just a short walk from Great Wilkins Hall, you've got the American Express Stadium right on the doorstep of campus. The home stadium of Brighton and Hove Albion football club makes for a great match day, especially when the sun's out!
Dundee
For students staying in Dundee accommodation, there's plenty of green spaces on campus for you to soak up the sun with your mates or have a solo date and read your favourite book! For those staying in Seabraes 1 or 2, you are right next door to the popular O'Marleys Irish Bar. They have £4 pints and cheap food all week for students, live sports and a beer garden so you can celebrate the sun in style and even catch up on the latest World Cup matches!
Falmouth
Falmouth is full of exciting places, one being INDIDOG Harbourside restaurant, a beautiful place to eat your dinner, only a 10-minute walk from the accommodation, and you can sit outside and watch the ferries pull up to the pier.
Liverpool
For students living in Marybone Student Villages, there is a spot for you nearby. St. George's Hall is just a short walk away. They host many events, guided tours, and interactive experiences, such as The Jury Experience (an immersive courtroom case), if you need to step out of the sun for a bit. Just behind there is St. John's Gardens too. For students living in Grenville Street accommodation, are you hungry? Well, nearby is Dukes Street Market, an award-winning food and drink market serving a diverse selection of dishes from its six kitchens.
London
London is a vibrant city, filled to the brim with fun and chaos for everyone, especially students! Only a 20-minute walk from Manna Ash House is the popular tourist attraction, The Graffiti Tunnel. It's the location that Banksy chose for the "Cans" festival and transformed a dark tunnel into a profusion of colour. It's a brilliant place to explore. Living in Don Gratton House in Whitechapel is a great option for sunny days. One cool thing about this accommodation is that it has a roof terrace! So you can enjoy your meals al fresco style, do some outdoor exercise or host a hangout for you and your friends. Just around the corner from Lilian Knowles' accommodation is Spitalfields Market Gardens, filled with bustling stalls. The market area is also dotted with hidden gardens and seating areas, making it the perfect place for summer.
Manchester
Between Grafton Street and Denmark Road accommodation is Whitworth Park. A gorgeous green space where you can read your book, go for a walk or have a picnic and watch the world go by.
Preston
Moor Park is very popular in Preston, and those who live in Moor Lane Halls its less than a 10-minute walk away! With its large green spaces and beautiful atmosphere, you're free to walk, run or cycle around the park. There's one particular spot to go if you live in Walker Street accommodation, and that is the lovable Wallace and Gromit statue on Earl Street. Whether you grew up watching the show or you have no clue who Wallace and Gromit are, it will probably still put a smile on your face, and you can take some silly Instagram pictures.
Salford
Just a 20-minute walk from Tramways accommodation is Walk the Plank, an outdoor arts and theatre project. They celebrate people and places through outdoor arts like festivals and parades, firework displays, sporting events and more. It's such an amazing thing to witness and to join in with.
