Heart-warming advice and answers from our recent competition

Another thank you to everyone for entering our Stress Awareness Month competition. We loved the responses so much that we thought we'd share some messages and tips for other students who may be struggling.

Make sure to keep an eye on Sanctuary Social and @sancstudents for the next competition 👀

Go-to ways to relax in halls 😌:

1. Quan-Shan Liu - Nick Everton House

"Headphones + zoning out. Lie on your bed, put on music or a podcast, lights off. It's basic, but it resets your brain fast - especially if your flat is noisy. Solo comfort rituals like tea/coffee, snacks, maybe a comfort show you've already seen. The key is zero decision-making."

2. Amy Hawkins - Marybone 2

"Going to the accommodation gym with my amazing flatmates and then cooking a meal together and winding down with a movie."

3. Sanjana - Nick Everton House, Grafton Street

"Spending some time in the kitchen, with the windows open and cooking my favourite meal. I usually like to bring my lamp into the kitchen so that I have some dim, calm lighting as I cook. It's the best stress-buster for me."

4. Scarlet Marsh - Moor Lane Halls

"Playing pool in the common room with my flatmates and friends after a long day or an exam."

If you're having a tough day, here's a message from your fellow students:

1. Amelia Bennell-Low - Marybone 1

"You may not be where you want to be right now, but think of how far you've come."

2. Isaac Wheeler - Grenville Street

"Be patient with yourself, can't go full pelt everyday"

3. James - Don Gratton House

"Tough times never last, tough people last ❤️"

4. Quan-Shan Liu - Nick Everton House

"Try to take things one small step at a time. Breathe, drink some water, give yourself a bit of space if you can. Whatever you're feeling is valid, and it won't stay this intense forever."

Thank you to everyone for their kind word 💜
