It's no secret, the cost of living is making money tight and students are having to come up with new ways to save as much as possible. You of course need money for all the essentials, but uni should also be a fun time, where you get to do lots of new things and travel to lots of new places.
If you're a soon-to-be student who is considering accommodation options, then we have the solution for you - choose one with a shared bathroom.
Hear us out, we understand the benefits of choosing an ensuite room but you will simply have more spare cash if you choose a room with a shared bathroom. For example, if we take a look at two of our accommodations in Liverpool (Marybone Student Village 1 vs Marybone Student Village 2 (ensuite)):
- Comparing the 42-week contracts for each accommodation.
- £85 per week in MB1 vs £118 per week in MB2 - Saving per week of £33.
- £3,570 per contract in MB1 vs £4,956 per contract in MB2 - Saving per contract of £1,386.
For a 50-week contract (comparing the same accommodations) you would save £1,150 per contract. Think of just how much you could do with that money! You could:
- Save that money and go on a big holiday at the end of the year.
- Go on loads of long weekend breaks across the year.
- Spend more each week on treating yourself - food, nights out, whatever you like!
