The start of a brand new adventure!
But first things first, you need to figure out what things you need to bring with you and what items you can't bring, here is our helpful checklist below:
- Driving licence or passport as proof of ID
- Your booking reference number, a copy of your offer letter/email or a payment receipt
- Bedding including duvet and cover, pillows and covers, sheets
- Towels
- Clothes hangers
- Clothes
- Toiletries and medicine
- Laptop
- Stationary
- Laundry items
- Money
- Books
- Pictures of home
For your cooking utensils and crockery, we would recommend waiting to buy these until you arrive. You can then decide what to buy between your flatmates, you don't want to end up with 6 toasters!
The items that will already be provided in your kitchen include:
- Cooker
- Fridge/ freezer
- Microwave
- Mop and bucket
- Dustpan and brush
- Bin
- Vacuum (some sites you may have to collect from reception)
Some kitchens have a kettle and an ironing board (iron not included).
Items NOT to bring:
- Chip fryers or rice cookers
- Candles, incense sticks, tea lights
- Smoking equipment, such as pipes and ashtrays
- Dartboards or weapons of any kind (real or replicas - don't bring them!)
Anything that may cause a fire hazard, large items of furniture or equipment, and no pets.
