DON’T put fat, oils, leftovers or ground coffee down the drain.
Fats, oils and grease can’t be washed away with water or washing up liquid – they congeal and clog together in our pipes, causing blockages and bad smells. Yuck, right?
Blockages like these keep happening in your area, so what should you and your neighbours be doing?
Instead of pouring them down the sink, collect them in a container like a jam jar or yoghurt pot. Leave them to cool, and once they’ve set, scoop them out and pop them straight in the bin.
