Over the past year, our events calendar has been jam-packed, and we wouldn't have it any other way! From the welcome parties when you first arrived to celebrating some of the biggest holidays, here's how our students made memories this year.
Welcome parties π
It all started at the welcome parties. This is one of our favourite events (and hopefully yours too) as it's the first big opportunity since moving in to make new friends and get to know your flatmates and the staff better β not to mention lots of free pizza, games and great music!
Black History Month πΏπ¦
We always want to make sure you're able to experience different cultures throughout the year, learning more about different traditions and the importance of celebrations like these. Which is why you're bound to see lots of cultural events happening in your accommodation, like this African night filled with traditional clothes, food and entertainment for Black History Month.
Halloween π
Who doesn't love dressing up for Halloween? We loved seeing your scarily inventive costumes at our Halloween parties where we tested your knowledge of all things spooky and horror in our quiz!
Christmas and Thanksgiving π
We know a lot of our students don't have the chance to go home for Christmas, or have never celebrated this holiday before, so you can count on our Christmas events to bring the cheer (and the Christmas crackers).
Lunar New Year π§§
To welcome in the Year of the Snake, we obviously had to give our common rooms a red and gold makeover and supply some Chinese treats to celebrate, from noodles and fried rice to mochi and bubble tea. What fortune did you get?
Random acts of kindness day β€οΈ
This is one of our favourite days where we get to see so many of our residents spreading kindness and positivity to each other and our staff.
To thank you back, we hid envelopes around our halls filled with little surprises - if you found one we hope it put a smile on your face!
St Patrick's Day βοΈ
Cheesy Irish playlist? Check. Green t-shirt? Absolutely. Our St Patrick's Day parties brought the laughter, some questionable Irish dancing and an array of green outfits.
This is was the perfect mid-March pick-me-up that everyone needed and it was so much fun, some of us even had a little too much fun...
Easter π°
Did someone say Easter crafternoon? To help our residents unwind on the run up to exam season, we brought the crafts and you brought the creativity. It was a great way to turn your brain off and just focus on the paints β who knew we had such talented artists in our buildings!
Whether you're into low-key evenings, big parties, or just free food (no judgement), there's an event for everyone.
